3RBC Membership Meeting
April 16, 2003
"Bring Your Best Nature Slides"
We've seen ample evidence in The Peregrine and at meeting programs that the Three Rivers Birding Club has some fine nature photographers. All are invited to show a selection of up to 25 of their favorite slides at our annual Members' Night on Wednesday, April 16, at the Phipps Garden Center in Shadyside. Photographs of birds or any other nature subjects will be appropriate for the program.
In response to members' requests, the meeting has been advanced to April because May is such a busy birding month. Doors will open at 7:00 PM for socializing, and the meeting will begin at 7:30 PM.
Members who plan to show slides are asked to be there at 7 to get their slides into a carousel.
The Garden Center is at 1059 Shady Avenue, directly behind the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts at Fifth and Shady Avenues. Enter the cobblestone driveway from Shady Avenue at the sign for the Garden Center. Detailed directions are on the Phipps website: http://www.phipps.conservatory.org/information/directions.html
There is a metered lot where city parking is 25 cents per hour. More parking is available on nearby Shady Avenue. In addition, Beechwood Boulevard, the street parallel to Shady and a block east (i.e., away from Downtown) has free parking and is a short walk through Mellon Park to the Garden Center.
Mark your calendars: Our subsequent three meetings will be on Monday, July
7; Monday, September 8; and Monday, November 3.
