Survey: Impact of Industry on Birding
David Klenosky, a Professor of Recreation Management at Purdue University, has been working on a research project examining the impact of factories and industrial structures: their physical presence, odor, noise, and the like on people's outdoor activities. As part of that project, he has developed a web-based survey focusing on how these environmental conditions affect bird watching.
It is important to get input from a variety of people with a wide range of birding interests. So even if you rarely bird or have not gone birding recently, please take a few minutes to complete and submit a survey. It would help considerably if you could if you complete the survey as soon as possible, but by November 24, 2003 at the latest. The survey is located at:
http://www.sla.purdue.edu/survey/~klenosky/birdersurvey.asp
Survey results will help resource agencies in their efforts to develop, preserve, and restore birding areas and other outdoor resources. By sharing your experiences and opinions you can help improve the quality of life in our community.
If you have any questions about this study, or would prefer to complete a paper survey instead, please contact Dave Klenosky.
