Three Rivers Birding Club

3RBC Membership Meeting
We Will Travel Through Pennsylvania July 12, 2004

Mike Fialkovich, one of our club's most active birders, will take us on birding trips across the state at our meeting on Monday, July 12, at the Phipps Garden Center in Shadyside. Come at 7 PM for socializing. The program will begin at 7:30PM.

Mike's slide show, "Birding in Pennsylvania," will cover some of his rarity chases (successful and not successful), as well as hotspots including Presque Isle, the Pymatuning area, Conejohela Flats on the Susquehanna River, Hawk Mountain, and many unfamiliar places in between.

For the magazine Pennsylvania Birds, Mike is the statewide spring seasonal editor and the county compiler for Allegheny and Fayette. He is well known to Three Rivers Birding Club members as our Bird Reports Editor and as a frequent outing leader. And there is more: Mike is a Regional Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Breeding Bird Atlas, conducts an annual Breeding Bird Survey for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and surveys winter raptors in Butler and Allegheny counties for the Pennsylvania Society for Ornithology. Those who bird with Mike know him also for his knowledge of plants and many other aspects of natural history.
