"Slide Slam"
March 8, 2004

A "slide slam" is where members are asked to bring their favorite nature slides, particularly of birds. You need not be an expert photographer. If you like your slides, the rest of us might like them too. Doors will open at 7 PM for socializing, and the meeting will begin at 7:30. You are asked to call or email President Jack Solomon several days in advance to discuss how many slides you might bring. To reach Jack by phone call 412-521-3365. Please show up at 7:00 PM to get your slides in a carousel. This is sure to be a fun meeting!

The meeting will be held at the Garden Center which is located at 1059 Shady Avenue, directly behind the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts at Fifth and Shady Avenues. Enter the cobblestone driveway from Shady Avenue at the sign for the Garden Center. Detailed directions are on the Phipps website: http://www.phipps.conservatory.org/information/directions.html.

There is a metered lot where city parking is 25 cents per hour. More parking is available on nearby Shady Avenue. In addition, Beechwood Boulevard, the street parallel to Shady and a block east (i.e., away from Downtown), has free parking and is a short walk through Mellon Park to the Garden Center.
