Brian Shema is in the beginning research stage for a paper he plans to write regarding Kentucky
Warbler nest sites, and would appreciate your assistance. Should anyone come across a probable
Kentucky territory, please spend a few extra minutes and search for the nest. Any information
acquired, particularly nest proximity from the ground would be greatly appreciated. Additional
information which would be useful: type of shrub or structure the nest is in (or on), evidence of
white tailed deer, dominant understory species (i.e. is it mostly spicebush or is the understory
shrub diversity intact), etc. If you come across a probable territory, or an actual nest, please
contact Brian (412-963-6100 x25) with the location.
