Western Pennsylvania Conservancy
Community Garden Planting Day
May 26, 2005
Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, one of the oldest conservation groups in Pennsylvania,
has a long history of working to conserve our environment by involving people with nature.
One of our unique programs supports the community gardens that are planted throughout the
region in May. Each spring we organize the planting of over 180 gardens in 20 counties in
Western Pennsylvania. Our gardens range in size from small beds to large and dramatic plantings. Some of our gateway gardens around town include the ones at the Highland Park
Bridge, the Squirrel Hill Tunnels, the Liberty Tunnels, and the Fort Pitt Tunnels.
We are writing to see if you might be able to help us connect with people who would
volunteer to help plant the community garden at the intersection of
Allegheny River
Boulevard and Washington Boulevard.
The planting is scheduled for Thursday, May 26th. Please see
the Planting Day
Instructions explaining what is expected of volunteers.
Thank you for your consideration.
