Ted Floyd Interview Date Change
WMNY-AM (1360) Radio September, 28 at 1:00pm

Pennsylvania's Ted Floyd, the Editor of the ABA's Birding magazine, and a founding member of 3RBC will be the guest on Pittsburgh radio station WMNY-AM (1360) on Sunday, September 28, at 1 pm. This interview had originally been scheduled for September 6 in the current (Sept./Oct.) Peregrine, page 7, but was changed too late for a correction.

In a 30-minute live interview by "Birds and Nature" show host Scott Shalaway, Ted will talk about birds, birding, and his new book, The Smithsonian Field Guide to the Birds of North America. Listeners will be invited to call in with questions.

A Pittsburgh native now living in Lafayette, Colorado, Ted is a former member of the Pennsylvania Ornithological Records Committee. For Pennsylvania Birds, he has been Christmas Bird Count editor, Spring Migration Count editor, Allegheny County compiler, and author of many articles.

Ted keeps in close touch with many Pennsylvania birders. He was the keynote speaker, conducted a warbler identification workshop, and led outings at the Presque Isle Festival of Birds in May. Besides editing and writing, his many educational activities include leading workshops for the American Birding Association's Institute for Field Ornithology.

Ted is a Founding Member of the 3 Rivers Birding Club and has led outings for us a recently as this May, when he was in town for the proclamation by Pittsburgh's City Council of Ted Floyd Day. It's also worth mentioning that (though he won't be participating in the interview) one of the editors of Ted's book is Paul Hess, editor of the Peregrine and a resident of Allegheny County for many years.
