Geoff Malosh Recounts A Trip To ALaska
Three Rivers Birding Club member Geoff Malosh will take us on a journey through Alaska at our meeting on Wednesday, August 11.
NOTE: This meeting date is the second Wednesday of the month, a departure from our usual first-Wednesday schedule.
The meeting will be held at the Phipps Garden Center, 1059 Shady Avenue in Shadyside. Doors will open at 6:30 PM for scocializing, the business meeting begins at 7:30, and the program starts at 8.
Geoff will share with us photos and stories from his 1,300-mile journey through interior Alaska last summer. He might add a few interesting Photoshop demonstrations along the way, and maybe other dazzling photos from who knows where.
Many readers know of Geoff’s frequent travels from his many wonderful images that he has shared with us at slide slams over the years, which have included pictures from Adak Island to Key West and many places in between.
Geoff is editor-in-chief of Pennsylvania Birds, the quarterly journal of record of the Pennsylvania Society for Ornithology. He is also compiler of Beaver County and Washington County sightings for the journal, and is currently serving a second three-year term on the Pennsylvania Ornithological Records Committee.
His photos have graced the pages of The Peregrine for years, and they have appeared in several national magazines, local newspapers, books, and websites, and once on the cover of the prestigious American Birding Association journal North American Birds. .
At membership meetings, bring in old bird-related magazines books, etc. that are no longer wanted, and set them on a table for anyone to take, free. If the materials are not taken, please take them home.
