Sunday, September 15 Outing With Scott Shalaway
Dr. Scott Shalaway will host the Three Rivers Birding Club for an outing near his West Virginia home. This outing could coincide with the peak of the fall songbird migration. We will bird from 9:00 to noon, then have lunch before departing or birding on our own. Depending on the interests of the group, we can stay at Scott's or go to Enlow Fork or m" Ryerson State Park for the afternoon. Approximate driving time from Pittsburgh is two hours. Take I-79 south to Waynesburg, Rt. 21 west to WV state line where the road becomes WV 891. Continue on 891 to Stop sign on US 250. Turn left (south) onto US 250 through Cameron. As you note the high school on the right, continue 3.1 miles and bear right off US 250 onto Reid Ridge/Fish Ridge Road (just past Big Run Christian Church). Continue 0.7 mile and turn right at big white house onto Fish Ridge Road. Scott's house is 1.5 mile out this road, a white house with a green roof on the left.
