Three Rivers Birding Club

Crane Creek/Magee Marsh Ohio Outing Details
Saturday & Sunday May 1-2, 2004

If you have any questions, please email Jack Solomon. Jack may leave a few days early, so don't delay too long.

Information on directions and accomodations is available from the Ottawa County (Ohio) Visitors Bureau 800-441-1271. They will send a packet of information including places to bird and maps on how to get there.

Rooms:

Many of our members stayed at the Best Budget in Port Clinton last year, and found it nicer than the Best Western across the street. I believe it's moderately priced. Ask for a birders' discount when you contact Best Budget or any local motel. A member who made reservations at Best Budget Inn says: a single room is $35.10/night for weekdays and $44.10/night for Saturdays after the 10% birder's discount. I believe you must ask for the discount to get it.

Restaurants:

In Port Clinton, some liked the small Italian place right beside the Best Western on E. Perry St. (the name escapes me now), also Conrad's on Madison (or Monroe) just diagonal across the street from Jet Express.

There is the old hotel in Oak Harbor, which is near Crane Creek, I thought it had fabulous food. We all ate dinner there together last year. All these places serve alcohol.

Along RT 2, about halfway between Port Clinton and Crane Creek, there is a small, noisy and good Chinese place.
